Craft Block Sets

Sisters, we wanted to provide you the information for the craft blocks so that if you didn't get the opportunity to make the Jingle signs, you can make them, or you can make, "Family", "Snowmen", "Harvest", the possibilities are endless.

Craft Blocks

• Buy an 8ft 2x4 piece of wood from The Home Depot.

• Ask them to cut the following pieces:

  2 – 12”

  1 – 10”

  2 – 8”

  1 – 7”

• The letters (for the Jingle) will be placed on the following dimensions of wood:

"J" - 12"

"i" - 7"

"n" - 8"

"g" - 12"

"l" - 10"

"e" - 8"

*Any other word choices, you can arrange your letters in whatever way works.

*You may purchase the “Jingle” letters from the Schelin's. The "Jingle" letters we used that night were Red.

*Keep in mind the color of your letters, as you are picking out your scrapbook paper.

• You can paint or stain your wood. I like to do my back, front, sides, and top, but that's just me. :)

• Choose your scrapbook paper.

• Cut the Scrapbook paper 3" x (1/2" less than the total height). This will give it a 1/4" border around the paper. It looks really nice, and it's easier to Mod Podge on :)

• Using a sponge brush, place the Mod Podge on the back of the paper, place it on your wood. Let it dry for 10 – 15 min. Then apply a thin coat of Mod Podge on top, making your strokes nice and even.

*The Mod Podge goes on creamy, but will dry clear.

• Let the blocks dry laying down. (I let mine dry overnight, mostly because I craft at night) If you stand them up, there might be Mod Podge on the bottom that will stick to whatever it is standing on.
